Led by U.S. Veterans and supported by families, our team conducts thorough investigations using historical research, advanced technology, and on-the-ground expertise to locate and recover MIAs. From archival analysis to field missions in remote locations, we collaborate with families, communities, and experts to uncover leads, verify identities, and repatriate remains.

AMAG is committed to coordinating with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) while respecting their partnership guidelines. We operate independently and do not represent DPAA or the U.S. Government, ensuring clear communication in all our efforts.

Asymmetric MIA Accounting Group (AMAG) is a Veteran and family-led nonprofit dedicated to researching and conducting recovery missions for America’s Prisoners of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA) service members from all wars. Our mission is to honor these heroes by tirelessly pursuing their recovery, providing closure to their families, and preserving their legacies.

Led by U.S. Veterans and supported by families, our team conducts thorough investigations using historical research, advanced technology, and on-the-ground expertise to locate and recover MIAs. Most first-year nonprofits spend their first year talking—building websites, writing bylaws, and hoping momentum shows up.

In 2025, we chose the hard route.

We built three operational pillars (AMAG, Memory Way, and the ILPMF), operated in nine countries, supported families from WWII, Vietnam, Korea (through partner nonprofits), and the war in Ukraine, and laid the groundwork for a scalable International Family Assistance Center (IFAC) model—while living and working under real-world risk, and largely self-funded.
