AMAG in the News!! The War Horse Article We’ve Been Waiting For!!
I am incredibly proud to finally share this remarkable article by Ken McLaughlin and The War Horse about AMAG’s work on Mindanao.
Ken joined us in the field and captured something much bigger than a single excavation. He documented what can happen when experienced American MIA specialists, talented Filipino archaeologists, historians, government officials and local communities unite behind one promise: Those who never came home have not been forgotten.
Although we did not recover the three missing soldiers during this first excavation, we accomplished something that may prove just as important. Together, we built the relationships, trust, local expertise and operational foundation needed to continue searching across Mindanao—where 180 American and Filipino servicemen remain unaccounted for.
Our Filipino partners are now trained in MIA-specific recovery methods, and AMAG donated our ground-penetrating radar system so the search can continue long after an American team leaves. What began as a difficult lead has grown into a lasting international partnership and a realistic path toward bringing more of our missing home.This is only the beginning.
We will return to search for Brig. Gen. Guy Fort and pursue other unresolved cases throughout Mindanao. Every investigation brings us closer. Every new partnership makes the mission stronger. And every person who shares this story helps remind the families that their loved ones still matter.
